GB Dental Girish Bharwani DDS

Technology

At GB Dental, we embrace dental technology because it not only improves Dr. Bharwani’s ability to make more accurate diagnoses, but it means a better patient experience. Leading-edge technology usually means less time in the dentist chair and less invasive treatments.

Here are just some of the ways we are incorporating dental technology into our everyday practice.

Digital Impressions

Say goodbye to old-fashioned, goopy impressions. Not only does this cutting-edge technology mean that we can capture clear, accurate impressions in a shorter amount of time, but we can also provide better-fitting restorations.

Nitrous Oxide

One of the goals of our office is to help reduce the anxiety that many patients feel when it comes to visiting the dentist, and nitrous oxide is a safe, effective way to help patients relax when they are here. Its effects are felt almost immediately as the gas is breathed in, providing an immediate calming effect. Nitrous oxide leaves the body just as quickly, so patients are able to drive themselves back to work or home after treatment.

Panoramic X-Rays

Providing yet another perspective for assessing your oral health, panoramic x-rays take a flat image of the entire mouth that can be examined all at once. This type of x-ray offers a clear view of your teeth, jaw, temporomandibular joints, and nasal and sinus cavities.

Rotary Endodontics

If you need a root canal, chances are you are already feeling somewhat anxious about it. Root canals have a bad reputation, but they are really no worse than getting a cavity filled. The availability of up-to-date technology, such as rotary endodontics, means unpleasant dental instrument noise is minimized, making this much-maligned procedure even easier on patients.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are faster than traditional x-rays, and they also mean less exposure to radiation. Digital x-rays are easily enlarged so Dr. Bharwani can see even more details that are not visible to the naked eye. Because no film development is involved, as there is with traditional film x-rays, digital x-rays can easily be shared with your insurance company so that you are less likely to experience treatment delays.

Electric Handpieces

Unlike their air-powered counterparts, electric handpieces offer more precise pressure and speed during treatment. This vastly improves the patient experience.

Intraoral Camera

Digital x-rays are great, but they do have some limitations in terms of what areas of the mouth they can see. An intraoral camera, which is about the size of a dental mirror, offers a clear view of all the nooks and crannies of your mouth. Dr. Bharwani can show you on a computer monitor what he is seeing, which means patients have a better understanding of treatment recommendations.

Laser Dentistry

Our office has a soft tissue diode laser that means more accurate impressions. We can also use laser technology to quickly heal mouth ulcers.

VELscope

As with all cancers, early detection of oral cancer means a better prognosis. A VELscope is a device that uses fluorescent patterns to reveal oral abnormalities in their earliest stages.
