I have a very bad gag reflex. Should I be concerned about getting an impression?
The good news is that we no longer have to use old-fashioned goopy impressions to get an accurate picture of the inside of your mouth when we are fitting you for Invisalign or a dental restoration. Using the latest in dental technology, we take a digital impression of your mouth that does not involve the use of impression material.
Now we can use a camera to take a 3-D image of your teeth—without gag-inducing impressions. With this technology, we can make more accurate restorations that fit better and patients don’t have to spend as much time in the dental chair
What has improved technology done for dental patients?
The use of dental technology in our practice is one way we improve our patients’ time with us. Dental technology, such as digital impressions, digital x-rays, electric handpieces, intraoral cameras, laser dentistry, nitrous oxide, panoramic x-rays, rotary endodontics, and the VELscope, means patients get more accurate diagnoses, enjoy shorter procedures, and experience better outcomes.
If you have questions or concerns about an upcoming procedure or you would like to know more about the dental technology available in our office, we invite you to give us a call to learn more. We are always happy to talk to you, particularly if you are feeling apprehensive about anything.
